Labour wins Oulton by-election

From Waveney District Council:

Labour Candidate, Len Jacklin is the new Ward Councillor for Oulton, following a by-election on Thursday 8 August.

Mr. Jacklin secured 450 votes with Conservative candidate, Deanna Law second and UKIP candidate, Bert Poole in third. Maxine Narburgh the Green candidate came fourth."

Len Jacklin said: 

“I am pleased to have held the seat for Labour.

"It was a hard fought election.

"I am pleased to have beaten UKIP in to third place.

"The Tories put up a good fight but it all worked out well.

“I want to thank everyone who voted for me and helped with my election.”

The seat was previously held by Labour's Cllr Mike Ives-Keeler, who sadly passed away in June.
