100 years ago in the autumn of 1914, it was thought by many that the Great War would be over by Christmas. Very few were expecting it to continue for a full 4 years.
On Sunday 9th November 2014 at 10.45 am at the Cencotaph Royal Plain Lowestoft the people of Lowestoft will be able to give their own personal thanks for those servicemen and women who paid the ultimate price and died in the service of their Country.
We will also Remember all those who have died, been injured and bereaved in every conflict since.
I would like to invite everyone who can to make this day one to remember.
"When you go home,
Tell them of us and say,
For your tomorrow
We gave our today".
Cllr Malcolm Cherry
Deputy Mayor of Lowestoft
