Lowestoft Labour Party gets on General Election footing with new high street office opened by Rt Hon Charles Clarke, former Home Secretary

Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate for Lowestoft, welcomed Rt Hon Charles Clarke, former Home Secretary and MP for Norwich South to Lowestoft this Saturday 9th March to open the new Labour Party office at 156 London Road North.

“Lowestoft Labour Party is ready for the General Election whenever it comes” Jess Asato said at it’s opening.

Charles Clarke said “There are a lot of reasons why the General Election, whenever it comes, are very important for people here. The first is to change the government of the country. To get rid of the people who’ve been running down, destroying and decaying the country in so many ways over these last 14 years.

“I believe the people of the country are fed up with the government and want to get rid of it. We saw in the Budget last week, how little they have to say on the economy and to help people here. They have no desire to level up the country to bring fair shares to everybody in society.

“I hope that people will come out and vote Labour at the General Election, to get it rid of this Government, to put Lowestoft forward, and to put Jess into Parliament.”

Jess Asato, added: “In Lowestoft we have a huge amount of potential with our beautiful beaches and broads, and new jobs coming whether through our offshore wind or Sizewell bringing hope for thousands of jobs for our young people.

“I am committed to everyone living in Lowestoft, Beccles and the villages. Today I fulfil the first of my pledges to the residents — to open an accessible high street office so I am visible and approachable. If elected, I will campaign on issues that matter most to you, both locally and in Parliament and hold regular sessions across the constituency to listen to your views. Finally, I will be a full time MP — no second jobs!”
